Eurovision 2022 backstage : éclairage, structure et scène

Comme d’habitude, le concours européen de la chanson Eurovision 2022 a mis en scène toutes les musiques. Dans l’ombre des chanteurs, backstage, les techniciens du spectacle ont réalisé le show.

Techniciens, régisseurs, scénographes, graphistes, caméramans et réalisateurs sont pourtant la pierre d’angle de ce spectacle international. Ils ont contribué à la réussite de la télédiffusion en eurovision.

Structure du soleil en fond de scène

Sur le plateau, le soleil The Sun Within se compose de sept arches.

Ces arches métalliques contiennent des éclairages motorisés et un écran LED en demi-cercle.

La scénographie du soleil se compose de sept plateformes concentriques motorisées. Chacune supporte un arc de cercle au maximum de :

  • diamètre : 19 mètres,
  • hauteur : 9,5 mètres.

Un mouvement est possible de 180° dans les deux directions.

Mur de LED suspendu en arc de cercle au lointain

Le montage dans le palais omnisports Pala Olimpico de Turin a commencé le 15 mars 2022.

L’installation des structures scéniques s’est achevée le 11 avril 2022. À partir de cette date, la scène était prête pour les répétitions.

Murs de LED transparents amovibles à côté de la scène

Comme une trappe au sol, deux murs de LED transparents sont amovibles. Ils sont positionnés côté jardin et côté cour de la scène.

Éclairage et projecteurs motorisés du soleil

Derrière les chanteurs, l’éclairage du soleil cinétique est composé de trois types d’appareils :

  • projecteur motorisé à faisceaux circulaire, CMY à lampe à décharge, MegaPointe de Robe Lighting,
  • projecteur motorisé linéaire, RGBW à LED à flux élevé, MagicBlade FX de Ayrton,
  • mur de briques en LED pour la partie centrale en demi-cercle, KNV Cube, 9 x 9 pixels de GLP.

Quelques chiffres de l’Eurovision 2022

  • 150 tonnes de matériel suspendu, soit 50 éléphants,
  • 440 hautparleurs,
  • 4 km de câbles,
  • 3000 projecteurs,
  • mur de LED d’un immeuble de 10 étages.

Pourquoi le soleil cinétique était-il statique ?

La motorisation des arches n’a pas fonctionné comme prévu. En bref, elle était trop lente pour les changements entre les chansons du concours de l’Eurovision 2022 !

Le 1er mai, le radiodiffuseur danois a décidé que les arches ne bougeraient pas. « Lors des tests techniques à Turin, l’équipe de production a rencontré des difficultés avec le temps nécessaire pour ajuster le soleil à différentes positions entre les différentes performances. »

Alors, « il a été décidé que le soleil resterait dans la même position pendant les 40 chansons, afin d’assurer une compétition équitable pour tous les pays participants. »

Voici une simulation 3D vidéo qui montre ce qu’aurait pu être le show si la vitesse de rotation avait été plus rapide.

Seules quelques chansons pendant les votes, ont bénéficié d’arcs lumineux en mouvement pour le décor. Par exemple : Il Volo et de Gigliola Cinquetti.

1 minute 14 secondes entre deux chansons

Durant l’Eurovision 2022, le temps est compté. Entre deux chansons tout s’enchaine. Après une performance, une  minute et 14 secondes s’écoule avant la perstation suivante :

  • 25 secondes d’applaudissements maximum pour le chanteur et des plans sur le public,
  • 42 secondes de présentation de l’artiste en un vidéo-clip, temps réel de changement de décor,
  • 7 secondes de générique graphique en motion design pour la chanson à venir.

Kalush Orchestra, Stefania, Ukraine 🇺🇦 gagnant de l’Eurovision 2022
